About Beth
I have worked as a social worker for 30 years. My earliest experiences as a social worker involved working with houseless individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. I did this work as part of the San Francisco Department of Public Health and with the UC System. I dedicated the last 17 years at UCSF Medical Centers and the Department of Psychiatry and another year at UCSC in the counseling center.
The commonality with all the individuals that I worked with involved a high occurrence of severe traumatic events that happened at some point throughout their lives. Abuse, neglect and poverty all had a lasting impact on their adult lives.
Most humans have experienced some sort of trauma or stressful event in their lives. Some experiences are more severe than others. How we process these traumas and stressors can greatly impact our experiences with others and how we perceive the world.
If you are experiencing anxiety and/or depression that may or may not stem from trauma and you want to experience a welcoming immersive therapeutic environment, then I invite you into this safe space.
I have always believed in personalized, tailored care. No one person is the same and treatment should be catered to fit the individual that you are at this point in your life.
Together, we will create a safe, nurturing space for you to discuss anything that you want to discuss.
I have always considered my work to be a rewarding experience. The fact that many have invited me into their space and shared their private thoughts about who they are is a privilege that I am so thankful to witness.
Hopefully I will see you in my practice and you allow me the gift of getting to know you and work with you to help you live your best life.
